March 31, 2021April 7, 2021 Project launch We are happy to announce the launch of the official website for Project PHILOTIS: State-of-the-art technologies for the recording, analysis and documentation of living languages. The focus Project PHILOTIS focuses on the creation of the infrastructure, the methodology and the tools for the recording, analysis and documentation of living spoken languages, with emphasis on idioms. The infrastructure is characterized by state-of-the-art multimodal technologies (text, image audio), while the tools developed by PHILOTIS will be an advanced digital platform for language analysis and documentation using machine learning techniques. The goal The immediate goal is the successful integration of state-of-the-art technologies focused on recording living spoken languages and their endowment with resources and tools of digital processing. The development support framework utilises modern technology and adapts to the specific needs and characteristics of the individual languages, offering methodology, good practices and digital services. PHILOTIS includes the dynamics to support excellence and business activity in the field of Language Technology, translation and education, and provide unique resources and cutting-edge technologies. At the same time, it will employ specialised young scientists of the humanities and informatics. The technology that will be developed will be scalable and reusable, which ensures its viability.
